Obama aide had multiple talks with governor, aides
An internal review by one of Obama’s aides has ”clarified” the president-elect’s statement that no one in his staff had talked to Rod Blagojevich or to anyone from his staff. According to the latest story in today’s Los Angeles Times, Rahm Emmanuel did speak with the governor, but only once or twice and only four times with the governor’s aide. The president-elect had no direct contact with anyone from Blagojevich’s office, but he did give Emmanuel a list of people that would be acceptable qualified for the office.
Those two stories match, right?

“In later telephone conversations, Mr. Emanuel — also with the president-elect’s approval (emphasis mine) — presented other names of qualified candidates to Mr. Harris…”

Two days before the Christmas holiday and with Obama in Hawaii, this story will provoke little reaction from the MSM or from the general public. After all, Patrick Fitzgerald already said that Obama had done nothing wrong (ie, he was not trying to buy the senatorial seat).
What will not be remembered is that Obama and his staff were cleared by themselves and that their initial lie response to Blagojevich’s indictment was to deny that any conversation ever took place. I guess Obama and Emmanuel forgot that “bonehead” conversation.
Once again the masterminds have not been caught in their own web of deceit.
But the American public does not hear nor care. Timing is Everything.
I don’t think any American that isn’t strung out on Obama Kool-Aid will believe the transition team report. It’s like the accused saying “not guilty”. I can’t say I’m suprised they are claiming innocence.
But having read the FBI affadavit, and knowing the close connections between Rahm Emanuel, Blagojevich, and Obama, I don’t believe for one minute that Rahm Emanuel is clean on this. I’m hoping the criminal proceeding that will inspire Blago to talk, and the FBI to produce the tapes, will give us all the truth.
Right now, we’ve only heard one side of the story: Obama’s side. Also, even if Rahm didn’t offer to pay and only “knew” about the pay for play, he is guilty of a felony. Finally, the FBI affadavit plainly states not everyone involved is included in the current affadavit. I don’t think this investigation is over for Rahm Emanuel by a long shot. I hope not.
