Excellent article. The role of religion in gender inequality is undeniable. This fact must a fundamental consideration as strategies to support equality are crafted.
The view that women are less valued (or valued differently) is on one end of the inequality continuum, and violence against women is on the other. Economic and political oppression and inequality are obviously, part of that continuum, as well. Sadly, many women have accepted the view supported by the church (any church) that women are to submit to men.
Hopefully, the strategies and approaches noted in the article will be successful. Women cannot continue to lose the few hard won rights we have.
