April has been a very unhealthy month!

30 April, 2009
  • On the 7th of April, Janet Napolitano Homeland Security finished a classified report for law enforcement agencies across the U.S. outlining the “potential” of right-wing extremist groups, lone wolves, and disenfranchised military personnel to “potentially” become confrontational and dangerous. The fear of domestic terrorism rears its ugly head.
  • About the 14the of April, the classified report became public. Reaction to the report was unfavorable, to say the least. Republicans, loners, members of the military, patriots and the disgruntled masses of the U.S. respond in anger at the accusations.
  • On the 15th of April, TEA parties were held across America; people of all parties united to express their sense of disenfranchisement and concern about the direction the new administration is taking. The administration dismisses the tea parties as irrelevant and right- wing, but in reality they are watching.
  • On the 19th of April, David Axelrod told CBS that the expression of dissatisfaction was unhealthy and reiterated the potential dangers outlined in the DHS report.
  • About a week later reports of an outbreak of swine flu sweep through the media.  As more outbreaks in the U.S. and across the world come in, the fear of an epidemic rises.  People are advised to stock up on food, wear masks, avoid crowds, wash hands often and, of course, to get a flu shot.  WHO slowly raises the alert level until the word pandemic is heard and read everywhere.  I can even track the pandemic on Google Maps.  To date there have been 109 cases reported in the U.S. and 1 death.  (here)

David, I have just one question for you:  which is more “unhealthy” the flu or your fellow Americans?
